The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), which supports research and education in these areas, honors those who further its mission. For instance, the Visionaries of the Year Awards honor those who have led the fight against blood cancer.
LLS has rebranded the LLS Man and Woman of the Year Awards to the Visionaries of the Year Awards. Even with the new name, the awards continue LLS’s 30-year legacy of recognizing individuals and teams engaging in philanthropic fundraising efforts to support research. The award committee selects the Visionary of the Year Award winner based on fundraising efforts during the ten-week campaign.
In 2024, LLS awarded Ashley Snider, from North Carolina, the National Visionary of the Year Award for raising over $600,000 for the organization. The National All-Star Visionary of the Year Award went to Bill Rawlings from Georgia, and the National Team Member of the Year went to Joe Cupoli from New Jersey.
